This beach was amazing. There is a spot about 50 meters wide that has hot water just a couple centimeters below the surface of the sand. And by hot, we mean hot! 60˚C! The hot water coming out of the sand had to be mixed with the cold water coming from the ocean to make it a livable temperature. We thought we could go there, dig a hole and lay down and enjoy the warmth. First, you must find a spot among the hordes of tourists. Then you have to build walls with sand to keep the water in your bathtub. Then you have to mix the ocean and beach water to get the right temperature. Then you have to keep rebuilding your walls whenever the waves from the ocean knocked them over. It was constant work! But good fun.
