There is a lot of reminders of the Dutch explorers in New Zealand, and one of the most famous is the Abel Tasman National Park. Extremely popular with hikers and kayakers alike, we took the water option. We went on an excellent day trip which included Sea Lion spotting (no pictures because it is hard to see them against the rocks) and stopping at spots like the famous Split Apple Rock.
