New Zealand is composed of a few islands, although the North and South Island are by far the biggest and the most visited. We were lucky enough to spend a month on each island as they are both unique and have a lot to offer. If you are familiar with North American, it is said the North Island is a lot like the east coast of North America with its rolling hills, and the South Island is a lot like North America's west coast with its large mountains. The pictures start on the North Island. Auckland is located on an isthmus, so even though it is New Zealand's largest city with a third of the country's population, it is only 16km walk across the city from coast to coast.
