A few hours from Niagara Falls is Thousand Islands. The islands, of which there are 1,793 in all, range in size from over 100 km2 to smaller islands occupied by a single residence (like the one pictured here), to even smaller uninhabited outcroppings of rocks. The islands are in the Saint Lawrence River, and some are Canadian and some are American.
